Jonatans Game Boy Collection - Focus SCN/Bergsala AB

Hello fellow collectors. 


For a long time i have been a member here, seeing all the fantastic collections on this forum. But not posting much myself.


So now, i think it is time to present my collection to you all. 
For those who do not know me, which i think is most of you. My name is Jonatan, 20 years old from Sweden. 

I have been collecting Game Boy for several years. 
Mostly collecting / researching about SCN-coded games, and different imports by Bergsala AB (the official distributor for Nintendo in Scandinavia, even today). But also companies like Infogrames, Wendros AB etc.


My ultimate goal would be to own every game released in european version, for a complete euro GB-set. 



Today i have a complete SCN-versions collection. The only complete set in the world to date. Many rare and interesting swedish imported games (not SCN-coded) also. 

I am missing 79 titles for a fullset of european games...

Here is the collection in all of it's glory. Swedish demo-unit in the centre. About 500 games in total + variants. Still missing some variants of Super Game Boy and 2 FAH-packs here that i really want. Kirby's Pinball Land + Tetris and Space Invaders + Tetris.

Bamse - SCN - NIB
Brand new from old-stock.



Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament - SCN - CIB
One of the rarest SCN-version games. Only released in Sweden and Denmark (not Finland, Norway). Limited single printrun. 



Avenging Spirit - NOE - CIB 
Contains instructions in french. Bought from Guillaume here on this forum. Thank you once again 



Smurfarna Jorden Runt - FAH - CIB
Swedish imported version by Infogrames. Swedish sticker on the front and extra manual in swedish / danish inside. One of 2 known copies. Extremely rare! 




Tom & Jerry 2: The Film - SCN - CIB
One of the rarest SCN-version games. Released in 1994 and did not sell well...




Darkman - ESP - CIB 
Extremely rare. Mint. 


Agro Soar - AUS - CIB
Bought from a friend in Germany when i first started collecting. 



Attack of the Killer Tomatoes - NOE - NIB
Very rare. Brand new from old-stock.



Lingo - NOE - CIB
Exclusive to Germany. Very difficult to find boxed.



Zelda: Link's Awakening - SCN - NIB
Love this game. Brand new from old-stock. 


L'arme Fatale - FAH - CIB
Great piece. Mint condition. 



Hammerin' Harry - FRG - CIB
Amazing game! 



Lucky Luke - EUR - CIB
Swedish imported version by Infogrames. Contains extra manual in swedish language only. Only copy known to exist.



Bubble Ghost - SCN - CIB
Rare SCN-version game. I love it. 



Hit the Ice - FRG - Mint
Extremely rare piece.



Taz-Mania - UKV-1 - CIB
Swedish imported version by Bergsala AB. Very late release. Only known copy with extra manual in swedish language.


Mega Man V - EUR - CIB
Swedish imported version by Bergsala AB. Very few copies were imported, and swedish instructions were added. One of 2 known copies with the extra instructions. 


Smurfarna - CIB - FAH-2
Imported to Scandinavia by Infogrames. FAH-2 code with a swedish language sticker on the front reading "Smurfarna". One of 2 known copies.




Robocop 2 - CIB - ESP
Exclusive ESP-version in Europe. Very rare, especially in this condition.

Rpghcg: Thank you friend. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is really rare for some reason. I usually only see USA-versions, even on german eBay.

It is really one of the most difficult european titles to obtain

That's indeed a really neat-looking collection you got here. I especially noticed the Darkman GB game. As I quite enjoyed the 1st movie, intending to find this particular game would be a nice add to my collection! How and where did you manage to find it?

C'est une version espagnole ESP et c'est l'un des 3 exemplaires complets que je connais donc accroche toi si tu veux le trouver, surtout que je suis à fond dessus aussi ^^

C'est une exclue ESP en Europe mais il est également sorti en USA.

Il est aussi rare qu'une quantité impressionnante de jeux GB, c'est loin d'être le seul dans ce cas. Il y a même des jeux qu'on n'a jamais vu complets pour le moment... L'explication est pas évidente à donner après...

GameBoyFan: I love the movie to, and spent quite a long time trying to find this game in ESP-version. I bought it from a fellow collector from Spain who i have known for years. In this condition, i will not find another unless it's by extreme luck. So it stays in my collection.

If you want the game to play and display and don't care about region. Get the USA-version, it is rare but much easier to find than the ESP-version.

Added FAH-2 imported version of Les Schtroumpfs. Smurfarna and also Robocop 2, ESP-version to collection highlights.

Added photos of the small, but very difficult to complete: SCN-version set.

Ah Jonatan, just to be sure : why don't you consider a game like Megaman V as a SCN version ? Indeed, you've got a Swedish copy imported by Bergsala, so you could consider it as a part of the SCN set.

I am well aware that it's a EUR code on the box, manual and cart, but you've got the extra Swedish instruction as well, so it's like a SCN version (on my view). I know this is a difficult point to answer, because all collectors don't have the same view on these kind of cases. But I know that for Spanish collectors, a very limited GB market as well (with different ESP games in comparison with SCN), games with foreign codes with imported ESP instructions, they can consider them as Spanish games as well.

I would be happy to discuss about this point with you, just to know your opinion about this interesting case my friend And congratulations again for your beautiful collection !

Regarding your question. These 135 games are pure SCN-coded. So i consider them a full "SCN-set" since these are all games marked SCN. 

It is not however a full Swedish Game Boy set, that would include every import. Like Mega Man V + additional manual in swedish and many others. This i view as an entirely different set, but needed for every swedish released game for sure. Maybe a future project to collect all these imports.

But right now, i've focused on the SCN-coded games. I also try to get the rarest / most interesting imported games. Like Mega Man V, Bomberman GB (EUR + SWE-manual), Kirby's Dreamland 2 (GPS + SWE-manual)...

Wonderfull collection JBH! I'll make a mental note to offer you all scandinavian GB manuals that I might come across. Seems like that some are pretty damn rare.

Also, as a side-note. I also count in every Sony Entertainment EUR-version game for example in the swedish fullset. Jurrasic Park 2: The Chaos Continues, Flintstones: The Movie and Micro Machines for example. Since these all have swedish on the box and inside manual.
